Partial Angling Biography of Ed Engle
Ed is an avid fly fisherman living
west of Colorado Springs and near the South Platte River where he teaches and
guides. Ed is one of the great experts on small flies and small fly fishing.
His two books on these subjects, published in 2004 by Stackpole, chronicle his 8
years of articles written for Fly Tyer Magazine and are sure to be
mainstays of the serious fly fisherman’s library. Ed has provided articles and
photographs for all the well known fly fishing periodicals, is an editor for
Fly Fisherman Magazine and has authored several books on topics including
tailwater fishing and Bamboo Rods. Noted author John Gierach describes Ed as
the man that taught him to fly fish. Ed is also an outdoor writer for the
Boulder Daily Camera.
